.sol files

for the past few months, i have been unable to continue any saved flash games i play on kongregate.com. i did some research and found out that its because flash players use what is called .sol files which are like cookies for flash games. i found where they are stored at and its a blank document. that i cant open. i changed the default over to adobe (for some reason it wasnt) but that didnt fix the problem. i already upgraded adobe flash and reader to the latest verson. my opperating system is windows 7 and i use internet explorer 9 and allow websites i visit to store unlimited data. is there something else i need to download or am i confusing adobe with another program all together? either way, any ideas of how to fix it?

thanks in advance

i was in my default programs section of my control panel to see if i could figure out the problem and it had no default program set to open .sol files so i made adobe the default. i managed to get .sol files to save when i close my browser but as soon as i delete my browser history either through internet options or my anti virus and tune up software. there gone. back in april when i first got the software i just mentioned, i would delete all temp files daily and had no issues until the end of may when i updated my pc (there were like 3 or 4 updates and adobe was one of them).

Ok, I understand part of it now.  But apart from that this is not required, what program did you make the default?  (Adobe is a company, not an application.)

Assuming that you use IE9, yes - this is how it behaves now.

Workaround: use CCleaner to clear your browser history, and do not clear Flash Player "cookies".

its adobe reader X. when opened, i get a message that says adobe reader X cant open the file type because it is either not supported or damaged.

IE9 deletes flash cookies now? that may explain a lot. i did update my browser around the time this issue started.

Undo that file association; Adobe Reader is in no way related to Flash Player, and cannot handle .sol files.

There is no standard program that can modify .sol files, but if you want to view contents, or even modify it, search Google for .sol editor
