Swf.Exploit.CVE 2016 0968-1 appearing since auto update of Flash Player

New Here ,

Hi,

I am not an IT techy so apologies if my non-techy language is not up to spec.

I got a message that this Swf.Exploit thingy was on my MAC.  Looked it up on the internet and it says this is a virus/malicious via Flashplayer

Flashplayer all checks out okay e.g. latest version.

How do I go about getting this fixed?

Hi,

How was Flash Player updated on the system?  Did you get a prompt to update, if so, what did the window look like?  Valid Flash Player installers do not install virus/malware. I suspect you were tricked into "installing" Flash Player using a malicious installer that infected your system.  Adobe does actively pursue malicious actors who distribute malicious Flash Player installers.  If you have a link from where the installer was downloaded from I will forward it to our security/fraud department for follow-up.

I'm not familiar with that virus/malware and we're not experts on virus/malware removal, which is also beyond the scope of these forums.  Searching for "Swf.Exploit" returns many results, including how to clean the system.
