SWF files won't play. Flash and Shockwave installed multiple times

I'm trying to click on the swf that's generated by Captivate from Windows Explorer.  All that shows in the file list is the blank page icon.  I've installed Flash and Shockwave multiple times.  What's going on?  This just started occurring after the last Windows update.

Hi Mischu,

First some clarification - while swf was derived from the name ShockWave Flash, Shockwave and Flash are now completely separate Players. So, any questions that you have for the Flash Player (swf content) should be posted to the Flash Player forum:

There is an Adobe Captivate forum that could help you with specific issues in relation to working with that product:
