Todays Flash player release 13.0.0.182 for Mac OS X fails on my Mac 10.7.5 on all browsers (Safari and Firefox).
Instead of any flash animation I only get "Plugin-Error" (in German "Plugin-Fehler")
Previous flash player worked without a problem.
Any ideas ?
@Adobe: What's wrong with rel. 13.0.0.182 ?

Chris, is everybody at Adobe on Spring Break?

Chris, If you can point me to a 13 beta archive I'd be willing to start at the beginning & see where the problem started if that will help.

Are those of us who have successfully uninstalled 13 and reinstalled 12 vulnerable at this point to the security issues that prompted the update. It's nice to have the Flashplayer working, but a little uncomforting to think we're in a state of vulnerability!

Chrome uses "Pepperflash" which is embedded in the browser.
I just finished updating the beta on my Mavericks and Snow Loepard machines with no problems.

I have had the same exact experience as you "arcadeelk"! I have read through the entire forum. Sounds like this is a big problem. Think I will attempt to reinstall 12.0.0.77 for now. Chris Campell ~ please keep us updated!!!
Just reinstalled 12 and still getting "Plug-in Failure". So frustrating. Any other ideas?

Did you have any luck Flashy? I've got this same problem after a pop up and told me to update my flash player... now nothing works - safari, firefox - utube nothing plays, face book games nothing loads...I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the earlier provided link by earlier poster, to version 12 but Mac won't let me - says I have a more current version installed and basically doesn't seem to want to let me revert... Mac Pro 10.6.8

Ok - I finally got the old version that was posted on this forum on page one of this thread, installed and working again... I googled "how to get rid of flash player 13.0" and came across a link to uninstall 13.0 BETA version...?? tried that and then installed the 12.0 version and all is working again - utube, facebook etc...none of the other uninstalls of 13.0 mentioned the word BETA in them - and I've been trying to uninstall it all night and having no luck until I came across the beta uninstall version...

I did just follow Mike M's (post 32) instructions exactly and the flash player seems to be working now. ![]()
However, it is not the newest version so I will watch for it when it gets straightened out.

I've encountered the same problem ("Failed plug-in") with Flash Player 13.0.0.182 on my 2007 Mac Pro 1,1 running OS X 10.7.5 Lion. Can't view any online videos; get error message "Missing plug-in" (on YouTube).
I had v12.0.0.44 on my Mac Pro, and had no problems with it.
So, I used the "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager.app" (in Utilities folder) to UNINSTALL v13.0.0.182, so that I could reinstall v12.0.0.4. The uninstall was successful.
But when I tried to reinstall v12.0.0.4, I got an error message that it failed to install.
So, I reinstalled v13.0.0.182 . . . with the same result as before. No videos will load; "Missing Plug-in."
===============================================
Situation update:
THE LINKS SHOWN BELOW WORKED FOR ME.
NOTE: After running the Flash v13 UNINSTALLER, I restarted my computer.
And then, after running the v12 INSTALLER, I again restarted my computer.
Gratefully, I am back to where I was prior to any involvment with Adobe Flash v13.0.0.182.
I found the following at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/25430515#25430515
We are aware that Macs created between 2006 and 2007 are currently running into problems using the latest release of Flash Player (version 13). We apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing. We are actively investigating the cause and hope to have a full solution to you shortly. In the meantime, please follow this two step procedure which will revert you back to version 12.
I will continue to update this thread and post to twitter (@liquidate) when new information is available.

Oops, looks like you beat my reply and succeeded. Very good.

It sounds like the uninstaller ("Install Manager") did not really succeed, so try it again immediately after a reboot, to make sure nothing is running which might interfere. If the Install Manager was uninstalled, get it from the "Download and run our uninstaller" link.

iMac 2009
10.9.2
Adobe Flash Player 13 install is different than before, it never asked me to download and open an installer, it just did it by itself.
Now, with 13, it wants me to download and open an installer.
When I do it initializes and downloads something else.
Then, I get an: Error: Unable to proceed with the installation
No options, no info, no nothing.
I feel lucky that it wouldn't even install compared to what I'm reading here.
Lame

Thank you! I'm so glad I found this discussion. I hunted on the web for a fix for an hour before finding it. I have a 2007 iMac 24" screen - which is no longer made (and really the perfect size). I plan on having this old computer as long until it dies. Thank you for helping us die-hard Mac owners. I uninstalled and installed 12.0 and everything is back to normal again. What a relief! I need YouTube for work too.

I am running a 2011-2012 iMac on Mavericks 10.9.2
I am having issues installing Adobe Flash 13. Gets to 54% complete and then I get a download error message.
I have read through the forum and preformed every possible advice given. Uninstalled completely. Deleted all info from /Libraries/Plug-ins. Tried installing Flash 12 and still nothing. I still get an downlaod error message.
I've even tried ALL the new beta updates on http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html ...Nothing!
Now i have no Flash to play anything and can't even install older updates.
Can anyone help? Any help in is matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ah, 2 things occurred to me after I hit "Submit":
1. The Adobe Labs server is slow. It could take a couple minutes.
2. By "download", I mean command-click on the link and choose "Save Link As..." or whatever, so that the downloaded file is saved somewhere like in the Downloads folder or on the Desktop, and you can run it later by double-clicking on it.
===== end of edit =====
I don't understand what "downloading" could have to do with anything, so I would start over. Here's what I would try:
1. Download the uninstaller, but do not install it:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/unins tall_flash_player_osx.dmg
If this fails, then there is an internet problem -- diagnose, or wait.
2. Download 13.0.0.199-Beta or higher installer, but do not install it:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html
If this fails, then there is an internet problem -- diagnose, or wait.
3. Reboot.
4. Install and run the uninstaller. No downloading is involved.
5. Reboot.
6. Install and run the installer. No downloading is involved.
That should do it. If not, report back.

Ok so first off, my apologize... by "Download error" i actually meant to say "Installer Error".

Ive actually just finished running through your process twice just to be sure and nothing.
I do apreciate the help. Not sure if there's anything else to try?
Please advise.
