Trouble with flash player

I recently downloaded

an upgrade to windows vista to windows 8, and now the flashplayer will not work.  When I download it from youtube, it says it installed, but it still doesnt work.  What do I do?

YouTube doesn't have Flash Player downloads, and Windows 8 doesn't exist yet, but that's not relevant here.

You might have been redirected to Adobe to download.

When you try to view Flash content online are you still prompted to download the latest player?

Yes- when I try to watch a video

, it says GOT FLASH? Then it says GO GET IT.  Then it forwards me to flash player to install.

What is your operating system?

What is your web browser?

Go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ - can you see the Flash animation and version information beneath it?  If so, Flash Player is installed and working correctly.
