I have issues with High CPU usage when watching a stream or even youtube lately. It has only been like this for a few months and was hoping it would pass with no luck.

When viewing the stream it fluxuates between 40-100% CPU usage.

I know more information is needed, but hopefully this is a good start.

Thank you

This is PRECISELY the reason I uninstalled Chrome from each and EVERY machine I own and WILL NEVER install it again. Chrome opens a new set of processes for each tab (and one for each plugin used by that tab) that you open. To put it plainly, unless you own a $25,000 super gaming system with dual 8 core processors and 64Gb of RAM, Chrome is a "dragging anchor" on your system.

I've got a latpop with an AMD quad core Athlon (64 bit) and 8Gb RAM & Chrome ground it to a spinning wheel halt EVERY TIME I opened it with more than one tab.
What's worse, I ran an Adobe Premiere update a few weeeks back which required a hard restart to finish. On a fresh (power off) reboot, Chrome was running when I got to my desktop and taking 60% of all four cores. I won't tolerate software that opens and runs without me opening it, especially if it sucks up that much of my system.Get rid of Chrome and use Firefox, or Opera. Much less wear and tear on your system.

Still pretty high CPU usage on other browsers, but not AS high... I wish I could just fix it for Chrome... But I may take your advice if nothing else comes up soon.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help, but in case you haven't tried it:

If it works, please report back.

Just an update, now that I am using Firefox, it hogs my CPU and the process is the flash player plugin. It will range from 40-90% when watching a live stream

Using Firefox now... Firefox is taking approx 30% of CPU while the stream is going and the flashplayer is taking another 30-40% of CPU usage.

So the browser fix didn't help much

High CPU usage with Adobe Flash player has been a chronic problem using every browser and every OS. Adobe knows about it, but they have done nothing.

There is no work around. There is no fix. There is no response from Adobe.

I don't know what else to do except contact the application manufacturers that use Adobe Flash and tell them I can't use it.

I enjoy playing a few online games, but I'm not happy about my computer running at full speed, my CPU running at 100% and memory being hogged, ALL from using Adobe Flash Player, which is REQUIRED for some of these games.
