Adobe Flash Player is blocked by your browser. Please check your settings or follow these instructions to enable it.  I have checked my settings and its enabled in my broswer, I tried both ways allow sites to run and detect and run and put the exception in, and they are correct. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both flash and google twice,  nothing has helped.  flash is working in other browsers but not in google.  I had a pwr outage and my system was in the middle of windows updates when the outage occured and now I cannot get flash to work.  I have also deactivated my anti-virus sofware  and that didnt help

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. never had an issue until after the pwr outage. I tried a system restore but that didnt work.

Please try the following:

  • Close all instances of Chrome
  • Launch Windows Explorer
  • Navigate to  C:\Users\Carole\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\PepperFlash\
  • Rename the 25.0.0.148 directory to something else (e.g. 25.0.0.148-old)
  • Launch Chrome and navigate to a site with Flash content (e.g. www.adobe.com/products/flash/about
  • Chrome should automatically download Flash Player and display Flash content.

Hi,

As you are using Google chrome browser, Flash Player comes installed with chrome and all updates are pushed by Google as part of Chrome updates. You will not be able to install/uninstall Flash Player for chrome. As you are stating that you have already done settings to allow Flash Player to run, could you check if you can run Flash Content on other pages like Adobe - Flash Player or Flash Player Help .

In case you do not observe issues on these pages, let us know.

Thanks!

For Chrome, please see Adobe Flash isn't working - Chrome Help

It's possible something got mucked up with your system during the interrupted update.  You may want to try resetting Chrome (Reset Chrome settings to default - Chrome Help ).  If that doesn't work another option is to completely uninstallChrome and then re-install it.

I tried resetting chrome to default and uninstalling chrome and

reinstalling it. When I uninstall chrome, I don't think its completely

uninstalling it as it reappears with all the same settings I had before, it

doesn't ask me to reset anything. Anyway I have done this about 5 times and

I still get same error Adobe Flash Player is blocked by your browser. Please

check your settings or follow these instructions to enable it. Or on your

website it says couldnt load plugin

why did  that work and what was the issue?

Good question, and one Google would need to answer as it is their product that is failing to load the plugin.

I have 2 more suggestions. If these don't work, I recommend contacting Google support and telling them everything you've tried.

1st suggestion:

  • Try toggling between disable/enable hardware acceleration: Go to Chrome Menu > Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Under 'System' (uncheck if checked/check if unchecked) Use hardware acceleration when available > Restart Chrome.

2nd suggestion:

  • Install Flash Player from adobe.com:
    • Go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions
    • In step 1 select Windows 7/Vista/XP
    • In Step 2 select FP 25 for Opera and Chromium - PPAPI
    • Click Download Now to download the installer
    • After the download finishes, close all instances of Chrome
    • Locate the installer in the default download location and double-click it to launch it
    • Follow the prompts to install Flash Player
    • After installation finishes launch Chrome and navigate to https://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about
    • Does Flash content display?
