Hi all,

I disabled the windows service AdobeFlashPlayerUpdateSvc, however, the window to update Adobe Flash keeps appearing.

Am I missing something else to disable so this update window stops popping up?

Thank you for your help and kind regards.

Luis

AdobeFlashPlayerUpdateSvc is the Background Update service, it's not for Notification Update, which is what appears to be the notification that you are getting.  Disabling this has no bearing on Notification Update Setting

To disable notification updates do one of the following:

Disable via Flash Player Settings Manager:

  • Control Panel\All Control Panel Items > Flash Player (32-bit)
  • When Flash Player Settings Manager launches, go to Updates tab

This is the screenshot the user sent me. He must have clicked in "download" and this window appeared since he has no admin grants. Is this helpful for you?

Thanks!

In an enterprise setting, deploy a custom mms.cfg file with the following settings:

AutoUpdateDisable=1
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0

mms.cfg file is saved at:

32-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash

64-bit OS: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
