change the update settings in the Flash Player Settings Manager to 'do not remind me'

Mac: System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates tab

Windows: Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Flash Player > Updates tab

If you'd like more specific information, related to your situation, please provide more detailed information:

  • Operating system version
  • Web browser and version
  • Flash Player version
  • Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible
    • What is the file name of the installer you are using?
  • A direct link to a web page that demonstrates the problem

Also, you would be wise to just turn on Automatic Updates.  Running old Flash Player versions leaves you vulnerable, and attackers are very quick to reverse-engineer the fixes in new versions and turn them into weaponized attacks against unpatched systems.  In 2018, if the software processes untrusted data (your operating system, browser, Flash Player, etc.), you should just set it to auto-update.
