I too have had the exact same problem with A Flash, but, it has been happening for several weeks. Flash persists and I oblige by deleting the request. Reasoning: I had installed the "pepper" edition and it really messed with things.

Unlike my fellow user who is having the same issues, I don't have all of the other browsers and such.

Had Adobe Reader DC but blew that off the system do to it's size and insistent pesty interference with my work

Avast is preventing the installation of this software.

So, on top of Adobe Flash wanting to be installed repeatedly, I now have a version that is non-Adobe wanting in on the action.

I branched your issue to a new discussion topic as it's not related to the discussion topic you posted to.

Based on your comments and screenshot, your being prompted to install a malicious/fake Flash Player, identified by the fact that the file is signed by copyrighted 2014 by fuseday instead of current year by Flash Player.  This is spyware (see im hacked by genieo |Official Apple Support Communities for more information).

If you have the URL of the site that is prompting you to download this file, private message it to me and I'll forward it to our fraud/security team for further action.  To send a private message click on my user-name link and then on the 'Message' button icon.

I will reply with as much info about the imposter as possible.

However, the pestering of Adobe Flash to update, as well as Adobe Reader DC" has been relentless.

Currently, a "Reader" update flashes on my app bar, but I have been ignoring it for months.

The relentless prodding to update sets the user up for thinking there is just another update when in reality a hack is at the front door knocking.

I started trying to find a way to contact Adobe months ago so as to ask questions. The damn Adobe web pages offer very little help.

Finally, a couple of weeks ago I found the Adobe forum pages by mistake rather than plan and sat on it because I was so frustrated. Then when Avast stopped installation of the fake Flash software, I signed in and you see the results.

I have been an Adobe fan since the '80s, '90s & 20's and could never understand why S. Jobs didn't like Adobe Flash. I am beginning to understand why Flash was on his "crap" list.

Again, I have been a supporter and user of Adobe for decades as a past Apple computer support tech in marketing and design organizations. I respect Adobe for most of it's efforts.

However, my support is getting thin, which also includes Apple i.e. the OS fraud/virus cop, Apple likes to tout, almost allowed my computer to become a victim as a result of the Adobe fraud installation.

The seemingly endless stream of updates without explanations have endangered my and others computers and valuable data.

Again, based on your original comments and screenshot, the update notification is not from Adobe. I'm not sure how Adobe is supposed to 'control' a notification for a fake/malicious Flash Player update, other than, the user getting the fake/malicious Flash Player update notification providing our security/fraud team with the URL that is prompting the fake installer and having them follow-up on it, which they do.  If you go through these forums you will find numerous posts for fake/malicious Flash Player installers.  Once a user provides us with the URL prompting for the fake/malicious Flash Player installer we forward it to the security/fraud team for follow-up which means they proceed to get the site taken down.

Since this appears to be a fake/malicious Flash Player notification it would seem your system has been compromised/infected by spyware (internet search for macOS genio indicates it is spyware).  It's recommended that you perform a complete scan of your system for spyware, adware, malware, viruses, etc.

I don't work on Reader and can't speak to Reader's release cadence, however, Flash Player's standard release cadence is the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Hey Warren,

I see these 'fake' requests to install Flash every now and again, but they are only on certain t'interporn sites (we're all adults in the real world here!)! I know they are fake, as 1. I have recently installed Adobe's Flash, and 2. When the mouse/cursor is hovered over the link, it should show the URL it will go to when clicked - it doesn't!!!
