Cannot uninstall Flash ActiveX MSI on upgraded Win10

I have several machines that were upgraded to Windows 10, but have an older version of Flash  ActiveX MSI that was installed before the upgrade. Since Flash Player is built into Win10, the MSI is prevented from running, including being prevented from uninstalling the older version. After digging around, it appears that Windows has updated the ActiveX components to the latest version and that the entry for the older version is just leftover cruft. However, it is important that this entry be removed because our software inventory system is indicating that these machines have an out-of-date Flash installation.

I want whatever resources (registry keys, files, DLL registrations) that were installed with this MSI removed. The Adobe Flash Player uninstaller won't remove the ActiveX MSI. What is the correct way to remove this old installation?

This is a Microsoft issue that when the system was upgraded to Windows 10, the Windows 10 upgrade didn't properly remove artifacts for the older version of Flash.  We had users report similar issues a while back (previous version ActiveX artifacts remained after updating to Windows 8, 8.1, 10), and reported to Microsoft.  Unfortunately, there is no easy way to remove the left-over artifacts.
