directtv flash player

i have downloaded latest version of flash player but directtv doesnt recognize it .  keeps telling me to get adobe flash player

I have had a very similar problem since Flash Player was updated with 32.0.0.270. The Directv player window will no longer open.

It sounds like you might just need to re-enable Flash Player in Safari.

Done that, several times! Flash works on everything else.

The deal is that the Safari implements Flash blocking (and Safari is generally pretty aggressive about both disabling Flash Player after each new update, as well as blocking access to the local filesystem), and DirectTV's website has some JavaScript that attempts to detect Flash.

If Flash works everywhere else but DirectTV, then Flash is working.  The problem is at that intersection of Safari and DirecTV's code.  You could try the other browsers available for your operating system (e.g. Firefox and Chrome) and see if you can find a combination that works.  The same deal about making sure that Flash is both installed and enabled for the respective browsers applies (they all use their own distinct variant of Flash Player).
