Downloading Flash

I am using Windows 97 and am trying to download the latest Adobe Flash as the BBC iplayer won't let me listen to the programmes without the latest version. It downloads and installs but is never on my computer when it says it has downloaded. I have closed down and restarted the computer and it is not there. I have saved to a file and run it from there and it is not there. At the end of the install it keeps promoting me to a one month trial for stock photos, which I do not want. I keep checking my programmes list but Adobe Reader is there, but not Adobe Flash. I really need it to work.

Windows 97?  Are you sure about that?

Which browser are you using?

Have you checked if Flash Player is already installed on your system?

Have you enabled the plugin in your browser's advanced settings?

Refer to this help article:  Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier

Hi Nancy

It is Windows 7

I am using internet explorer

Yes, I have checked it is not installed anywhere

I have checked the add on and it tells me this

Name                Shockwave Flash Object
Publisher           Adobe Systems Incorporated
Status              Enabled
Architecture        32-bit and 64-bit
File date           ‎Yesterday, ‎13 ‎August ‎2017, ‏‎11:32 p.m.
Version             26.0.0.151

But it isn't there and when I try to listen to a programme it keeps telling me to download it.

Cheers

Julie

At first you should try to uninstall Flash and then install it again. If the download link on this Website doesnt work you should try another one like this one <Link removed> You should restart your computer after you deinstalled Flash. Check if you have everyone of the latest drivers too.

@tobbyz

Please do not post links to non-Adobe sites to download Flash Player.  The ONLY legitimate location to download Flash Player from is get.adobe.com/flashplayer.  Anywhere else may be hosting a malicious installer, which is often the case.  User's then come to the forums complaining that Adobe infected their machine with viruses, etc.
