Just installed FP 10.1.82.76 on all our Windows machines (Internet Explorer and Firefox), partially by manual uninstall/install, and some by auto-update.

All went very quick, and no problems with the new player.

Can someone explain why all previous Mac updates were PKG files that could be deployed en masse using deployment tools and this one is an app that can't be? Does ANYBODY at Adobe listen to the complaints? A pkg file can be installed by a user AND a deployment tool without having to resort to using third party packagers.

And yes I DO realize I can go in and pull the PKG file out of their app installer. Thats not the point. The point is Adobe are all over the road with everything. No standard naming conventions for their apps, their updates or installer types. Development 101 was thrown out the window way back in pre OS X days. Some are just too young to remember what we put up with back then with updates. They would compress a compressed file. You'd DL the update, which had to be unpacked, the resulting file was also compressed. When you opened that, THEN you could get to the installer. It was quite comical. Adobe needs to hire an Apple OS packaging expert to teach the rest of them how to create packages and updates.

Hi, I think Pat posted this thread as an Advisory about the Flash Player update. It would better for each of you to start your own thread to discuss your particular issues.

It is very difficult to try to help several users with all the various system configurations on one thread. It is so much easier to help when each user has their own.

Thanks,

eidnolb

My Flash Player updated automatically at startup which I thought was odd. Is this a new feature?

I ask where to download the new version of Flash Player 10.1.82.76 flash pro package?

there's usually a zip file of all the flash players (installers & projector) used for flash pro, i can't seem to find it for the latest version released just now. could someone point me in the right direction?

Hello, I am having and odd problem installing 10.1.82.76 on Solaris for x86.  When I get the file extracted and installed, the version check in Firefox clams that its not version 10.1.82.76 but 10.0 r45 or 10.0.45.2 as confirmed by http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about web page.   Could someone verify this and correct the problem?

I regret on updating my Flash Player to this new update. Before this update I can open 20+ browser windows, each opening some flash games. At the moment.. opening 3 windows only.. the third window will have its flash player crashed. I'm certain that this is not FF faults, bcoz the last update I got is this update. I wish Adobe people release only stable update and restrict beta update for people who search for it on Adobe's site.
