Flash Player ActiveX Silent Auto Update fails

Hi,

Flash Player ActiveX 25 is failing to auto upgrade to version 27.

mms.cfg Settings:

AutoUpdateDisable=0

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1

SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1

Could anyone please help to understand this verbose log file, or please provide a document that helps to interpret these log entries.

I'll need to review the entire log file.  Please upload the entire file to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7161.

If this is a 64-bit OS, the following 2 log files are required:

  • C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall32.log
  • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall64.log

Post the link to the uploaded file(s) in your reply.

Also, what is the operating system(s) impacted?

I have uploaded the files, two files are named as FlashInstall.log, I have renamed it so that it can be differentiated.

12029 is Microsoft error code ERROR_WINHTTP_CANNOT_CONNECT (Retruned if connection to server failed, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa383770(v=vs.85).aspx)

The file in question is indeed posted to the server and accessible, so the issue is on your end.  For some reason your clients cannot access the file.

Are you using a proxy server? Firewall rules, etc that might be blocking the request?

Hi m_vargas,

Fiddler is unable to capture FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe network connectivity, it seems it is not using http protocol. We are analyzing Wireshark capture, could you please provide the url to which FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe connects/download during autoupdate.
