Flash Player for Linux stopped to work for me starting from 32.x

I didn't like some things happening with desktop Linux. So I continue to using Debian 5. No systemd. No PulseAudio. No huge and monstrous KDE4.

I'd upgraded a lot of system's components. There are Linux kernel (2.6.27 to 3.16), Glibc (2.7 to 2.15), GCC (4.3 to 4.7), Xorg (7.3 to 7.7), Firefox (from 3.0 to 45).

I use Flash Player to play browser games. After 11.2 version, there was a discontinue of Linux version develop and continue to release a security updates. But when 11.2 LTS version stopped it's lifecycle, there was the renewal of the Linux version support. 23.x beta version released, then 24.x final version released.

After the upgrade from 11.2 to 24.x, there was some problem. The build farm you're using was upgraded from RHEL5 to RHEL6, so GTK version needed by Flash Player was increased from 2.10 to 2.18. I'd installed Glib 2.24 and GTK 2.18 from lenny-backports repository. Flash Player was worked again!

But the VDPAU support was losed. Judging by "strings libflashplayer.so | grep vdpau" output, it's still present, but broken. My friend gets the debug messages, you can browse that there: https://www.linux.org.ru/forum/general/13120452?cid=13122518

I continue to use Flash Player without VDPAU support. The last version that was worked to me was 31.x. Starting from 32.x, it didn't work.

Did you upgraded your build farm again? Is that RHEL7?

I'd downgraded to Flash Player 31.x using archive. I hope that together we will solve the problem. I can give you any debug information. Also, what's the difference between this versions? linux, linuxpep, linux_sa

I believe that in this context, linux is the NPAPI plugin for Firefox and other NPAPI browser, linuxpep is the PPAPI (pepper) plug-in for Chromium-based browsers, and sa is the Stand Alone player (aka. Flash Projector).

We're generally testing on generally-available versions of Ubuntu and Mint these days.  If you want a smooth ride, those are good choices.  For distro-specific issues, the community that maintains that distribution is probably going to be the most informed on what needs to happen to get Flash running.
