For some reason flash player quit running in non protected mode.   I have the option unchecked in the addon options and about config shows:   dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode;true

Firefox version is 32 bit Version 53 also

However when Flash starts it always starts in protected mode (spawn's two processes)

The setting you are referring to is a Firefox setting, not Flash Player.  Please contact Mozilla/Firefox for assistance with the setting in their browser.

I understand that they are Firefox settings but they no longer control Flash's running in protected mode or non protected.  It worked correctly in version Flash Player 25.0.0.127 but not since then.

  • Add the following entry to the mms.cfg file: ProtectedMode=0
  • Save the changes to the mms.cfg file
  • Move the file back to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash directory
