Flash Player stopped working OS X

New Here ,
Jan 16, 2010 Jan 16, 2010

Like others Flashplayer has stopped working after a popup asked to update.

I'm running OS 10.6.2 - the latest Flash (10.0.42.34)

Doesn't work in Safari or Firefox (both up to date)

Youtube still works.

Here is a page that doesn't work - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/csinsider-design/creating-interactive-documents/

Flash works when I go to a new user.

I have run Flash uninstall and reinstalled - still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated

Problem Solved

Two folders in the preferences folder were missing.

These two folders and their contents were missing:

#Shared Objects

macromedia.com

Should have been:

~preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#Shared Objects

and

~preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com

I copied the folders from another user and put them back and now all is right with Flash.

hi,

I'm a having the same problem as you were.  I am completely new to the world of the mac book and would really appreciate if you could outline how you fixed this problem starting from the beginning.   If you also know of a website that instructs someone how to fix this problem step by step please let me know as that would be tremendously helpful.

Hi

I did not find any website that helped me. A little bit of luck and hunting around and an inspiration hit.

First off, go to your preference folder and see if you have the Macromedia folder.

To get there:

In the Finder click on you home (under places) then click on Library then scroll down to Preferences. Scroll down and see if you have the Macromedia folder.

If you do check and see if you the Flash Player folder and it's contents.

Just as an aside - don't know if you know of this site, but I find it quite useful (not for this subject unfortunately)
