how to enable flash player

I am trying to install QuickBooks 2010 Accountant version on my Acer Laptop using updated Adobe and Windows 10, it says the "Flash Player is not enabled...fatal error and ceases to finish the installation.....what do I do?

Hi,

As of Windows 8, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE and Edge (Win10) browsers.  Refer to the following tech notes to enable Flash Player on these browsers:

• Flash Player Issues | Windows 10 | Internet Explorer​
  • Also ensure ActiveX Filtering is disabled on IE
• Adobe Flash Player issues with Windows 10 (Microsoft Edge) 

If Flash Player is enabled in both browsers and you continue to have problems installing, please contact Intuit.

I'm not familiar with QuickBooks (product or installation process), however, but it appears QuckBooks may be attempting to install a version of Flash Player ActiveX and since this is already embedded in the system, installation of QuickBooks is failing.  I performed a quick internet search and found these resources, which may be of assistance:

• I can't install my quickbooks 2010 on my new laptop with Windows 8 - Microsoft Community
  • This mentions Windows 8, but both Win8 and 10 embed Flash Player ActiveX, and the embedded version cannot be removed.
• Error 1722 - I keep getting this error when QuickBooks Pro 2012 ... - QuickBooks Learn & Support
  • This is being reported on Windows 7 and indicates QuickBooks 2012 attempts to install an old version of Flash Player (when a newer version is already installed). If QuickBooks 2010 also attempts to install an old version of Flash Player, you'll need to contact Intuit to find out how to install it on Windows 10 because the embedded version of Flash Player cannot be removed.

Essentially the issue is with QuickBooks, not Flash Player.
