Running MacOS 10.13.6. "Flash player installer" showed up unexpectedly today as active (bottom of screen): I right-clicked and closed it. I had NOT responded to a fake pop-up message or downloaded it (at least in recent memory) from Adobe or elsewhere. Finder info (Utilities folder) shows file created 11/24/2020, modified 12/8/20 8:04AM (probably when it was loaded), name and extension: "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager.app." Norton scan of file says "No threats found." Is this app legit (OK to use for product uninstall)? Adobe does not seem to provide phone or chat suport for Flash, since it's free and at end of life.
We are running a campaign to try and encourage people to uninstall Flash Player. It was probably us.
I also think your choice to ignore a pop-up that you didn't trust is a great instinct, and you should stick with it. 🙂
You can download and run the uninstaller manually here:
