Just yesterday, I started having problems with Adobe Flash Player 10 on my Vista computer. I use both IE and Firefox, and no matter which browser I use, I get the message that local storage has been disabled and I need to enable it. When I go to the Global Settings page to enable it, I am not allowed to check the box to enable the storage. I am told that Adobe is aware of this bug. It is named FP-1914. What can I do about this? I have tried downloading an older version of Flash Player, but I cannot figure out which file(s) I need to open to install it.

Hi, What is supposed to have a bug in it? There are six Settings Panels, which one are you trying to access/set?
Where are you getting the message from that the local storage has been disabled?
Uninstalling Flash Player vs 10.0.45.2 and Installing an older version is going to make any problem you have worse.
Just some more detail will be helpful to see where the problem lies.
thanks,

Hello, I am using a Flash-enabled music player called Pandora. When I try to play Pandora, that is when I get the message that local storage is disabled. I have been emailing back and forth with Pandora Technical Support while waiting for an answer on this site, but they are no longer able to help me. Apparently there is a bug in the latest version of Flash Player that does not allow the Global Storage settings to be changed on some computers. This is what my Global Settings page looks like. According to Pandora, the slider should be over at 100MB, and the bottom two boxes should be checked.
When I try to click the middle box, nothing happens. When I click the bottom box, this is what I get:
Basically, something is not "allowing" me to allow Flash to store things on my computer. How do I fix this?

Rats. My screen shots did not copy over. The first one was of the Global Settings page with the storage at 0MB and all three boxes unchecked. I had attempted to check the middle one which says, "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer." It remained unchecked. The second screen shot shows what happens when I click the box that says, " Store common Flash components to reduce download times." I get a dialog box that says, "Delete and don't store common Flash components" with the choices being Confirm or Cancel.

Hi, if you sent a screenshot it didn't come through because I think that feature has been disabled for a time.
I use all of the Settings and have not had any problem with any and have been able to set them. I use Windows and Windows Music Player.
Others that i have worked with and am currently working with have mentioned they can't access one of the Settings
Panel or even the site itself. However, it was due to not having the correct Flash Player installed, along with the correct
ActiveX Control whether IE or other browsers. Once their Flash Player was installed correctly then they had no problem
with any Settings.
I am not familiar with Pandora, but would only make this comment. Flash Player is a browser plug-in and sometimes
in users add ons there are some that will conflict with the browser itself, add ons conflicting with each other and conflict with the Flash ActiveX Control.
Perhaps an add on is conflicting with Pandora since it is Flash enabled as you say. Just mentioning a possibility.
Also you may want to make sure your Flash Player is installed correctly since sometimes with an Uninstall/Install one old file doesn't get removed.

I'm having the exact same problem. If I go to the settings panel and put the slider up at "Unlimited", it doesn't save its spot. If I refresh the page, it goes back down to zero. If I click onto another panel and then come back to the slider, it goes back down to zero. A bunch of sites aren't working for me right now... lala.com, pandora.com, and video.adultswim.com are all buggin' out. Does anyone have a fix for this? I tried to downgrade to Flash Player 9 but I was told I didn't have the right "permissions" to install Flash 9, even though I'm the administrator. I'm on a Mac running OS X Snow Leopard. I've tried a buncha different browsers but Flash has this problem in all of 'em.

@shotzel: have you tried deleting the Flash Player cache folders? This has in the past cleared the problem with the Flash Player settings.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to these two folders
then delete the Flash Player folder in both places.

I started having some other issues with my computer, so I ended up wiping the hard drive. Everything works fine now.
