Hello. During an update installation on my Mac (MacOS Sierra 10.12.6) I got the following message: "Application "Install Adobe Flash Player" is trying to install new supporting program", and the prompt is asking to fill root password. I don't remember that flash player previously asked me to fill a password, and it looks a bit suspicious to me. Does anybody know what is "supporting" program? And should it be or it is kind of infection? (BTW, Antivirus and Malwarebytes haven't detected anything).

That doesn't sound familiar to me. What is the name of the installer file you are using?
Please post a screenshot of the installer dialog window (see https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot)

Thank you. That's legitimate. I was confused by the term 'supporting'. This is system text due to the API being used (implemented in the most recent version). Since it's system text, it can't be changed (we wanted to so as not to alarm users). Installation on Mac has always required the user to enter the password. This is because Flash Player writes to areas of the filesystem that require elevated permissions.

Maybe my translation was incorrect, sorry for that.
So, it means no cause for worrying!
Thank you for your help!
