If you disable hardware acceleration and the crash persists, then you can re-enable hardware acceleration, since that isn't the problem.
If you haven't rebooted the computer since the problem started, actually power it down for a few seconds, and then restart it. This will give all of the components a chance to fully discharge and reset.
