Offline play a SWF with the embedded mp4

Hi,

I want to do an online video training while travelling to Europe (no internet while on the plane).

The platform provided the video in the swf format; I managed to download it using Chrome add-on.

Unfortunately, in the middle of the training, it uses MP4 to present some walkthrough and the only way to identify this embedded movie is going to the overall video.

The training was created by Adobe Captive; is there a way to download the whole swf including the embedded mp4 without going through the whole video one by one?

Also, I noticed the MP4 does not have any audio, as the audio is embedded with the SWF file itself (strange).

How is the video embedded? Do you see it in the published folder?

Err...please explain 'published folder'?

I downloaded the swf using Chrome add-on (Flash Video Downloader); and when the video reaches the specific section, the mp4 is showing on the list to download.

If I play the swf offline and when it reaches that same section, it just stated "loading...connection error"; even though the presenter audio is still playing.

You probably ignore even the basics of Captivate. A Captivate course when published to SWF is a folder. You are not supposed to launch the SWF directly, but the '.htm'' file which is in that folder. That file will lcall a JS and maybe a CSS file and launch the SWF file. If there are embedded videos they could be in the folder and will play when they are called. All can be done locally, which you wanted, but you need to follow those instructions. You have to set up Flash security, but that seems to be OK since you were able to play the SWF file individually.

Ah okay, does it mean I shouldn't be using the above add-on to download the whole video? what's the best way to download them all from the website then? a simple save as selecting save page as htm or mhtl in IE?

The content is not designed for downloading from a web site.

I fear that it is not possible to download that type of content from the web. Captivate courses are meant to be viewed in a LMS. SWF output (which will disappear soon) could also be published to an interactive pdf, or a standalone exe file, but the links to the videos would not work.
