Hi,

We recently upgraded all of our desktops (windows 7) with the ShockWave Flash update 27.0.0.170; we are now seeing performance issues in Oracle BI that have flash add-on's via IE11 - when navigating, the browser will eventually crash.  Also, adobe captivate videos are crashing via the IE11 browser as well.

When I revert back to 27.0.0.130, everything is fine.

Is there a fix coming out to address this soon?

Hi,

27.0.0.183 fixes the crash and is now available.

Please go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download the latest version.

Note that Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE and Edge on Windows 10 and Flash Player updates are released by Microsoft.  The Flash Player ActiveX installer will not run on Windows 10 (or 8.x).  For those using Windows 8.x or 10 and IE/Edge, you'll need to wait until Microsoft releases the update.

Thanks!

Hi divya_1993,

Thank-you for the reply.  We did try downloading the latest 27.0.0.183 patch set and it did not resolve our issue.

27.0.0.183 was released to fix a specific crash in vSphere, so it's essentially 27.0.0.170 + a very specific fix.  If you're crash is not relate to the vSphere fix, it's not fixed in 27.0.0.183.  If the crash is fixed in the 27.0.0.180 beta, it will be fixed in the next scheduled release, Tuesday 14-November, barring any unforeseen issues.

27.0.0.180 beta does NOT fix this on a window's 7 O/S with IE11.

Is there anyway this can be escalated?

We'll need to get crash log files from you to investigate further.  Please see Report a Flash Player crash or error for information on gathering the crash log files.  After gathering the files, file a bug at https://tracker.adobe.com, and post the link to the bug record here.

Adobe Captivate is a separate product.  Please post Captivate issues at https://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_captivate

I've collected the crash dump file and created a bug for it here https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FP-4198692
