Hi, yesterday I was prompted to download flash player on my laptop however after clicking download I noticed the website to be a bit unusual the addresses are as follows:
https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/ppapiosx/
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
I was told that this webiste looks suspicious too so therefore, could you confirm whether these are your websites or not please as I have read online and some say it is not your website but it a malware website. I need to know so I can take reasonable steps to clear my laptop?
thank you
https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/ppapiosx/ and https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ are both legitimate download URLs for Flash Player. get3.adobe.com is from clicking Update in the Update Notification dialog window that prompted you to update Flash Player.
If Chrome is the only PPAPI-based browser you use there is no need to install Flash Player separately as Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome and all updates are released by Google. Personally, I'd rather user the embedded version and

Those are normal Adobe web sites (the key is the adobe.com part). HOWEVER, ignore all suggestions from web sites that you download, because many are fakes trying to attack you: millions of malware sites are waiting with fake Flash Player. Instead, just go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer. Please be aware Flash Player will go away completely at the end of this year, don't make long term plans to use it!

Hiya, I never had any intention to use it. I only downloaded as the window kept popping up. The pop up gave me the option to donwload or get reminded later so I clicked download which, led to the websites above and then I clicked download on that website. So if those websites are yours then I am assuming the pop up I received was legitimate which led me to those above websites. C,an you confirm this please?
thank you.

They aren't "mine" because I don't work for Adobe... this is just a user to user community (staff come by sometimes).
No, we cannot confirm any link is legitimate, as it could easily be that something else is an attack. Suggest that if you want Flash you use the official link, and if you don't want Flash you absolutely ignore popups about it. Unfortunately we are all under attack, all the time.

Personally, I'd rather user the embedded version and not deal with the hassle of updating separately. If Chrome is you're only PPAPI-based browser, I recommend uninstalling the non-embedded version and just using the embedded version. To uninstall the non-embedded version download and run the installer posted at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
