No matter what I try, including the stuff on the forums, flashplayer (or shockwave) absolutely refuses to download properly and install at all. I am beginning to believe they hate me. My installation worked just fine until about a week ago, then it disappeared and I can't get it back. I really am annoyed that flashplayer won't work. What good is a software company that has products which refuse to work?

As 3:50 PM 15 Aug 2016, There is no answer, so, I suppose this question doesn't have an answer. Adobe blew it and are hiding it on the Forums.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm running:
Windows 7 Professional version 6.1
Internet Explorer version 11.0.9600.18426
update version 11.0.34
product ID 00150-2000-00003-AA459
Involved: Flashplayer Version 22.0.0.510 I believe I had been running an earlier version of Flashplayer before it started failing.

1) Flashplayer had been running very well for me until just before the end of July and all of a sudden it started showing a message that I needed to install Flashplayer and Flashplayer wouldn't run at all.
2) I go to the Adobe website for downloading and installing Flashplayer.
I clear selection for installing Google Chrome. Don't want it.
Left click on download.
Left click on 'save as' and save to desktop.
Go to desktop and click on the icon for Flashplayer.
Click on allow to install.
It runs and gets to the end, step 3 of 3 and wants me to download and pay for a bunch of pictures which I don't want.
Close window.
Icon for Flashplayer on desktop is gone and I can';t find Flashplayer anywhere on computer except in file "Downloads" but nothing will run from there.
If I pull up something which requires Flashplayer, such as BBC video, I get an error message that Flashplayer isn't installed and that I need to install it.
It does the same things when I have enabled/disabled ActiveX and enabled/disabled the Flashplayer add-on or enabled/disabled the Shockwave add-on.
3) My control panel shows an icon for Flashplayer (32 bit), but my Win 7 is running 64 bit.
4) I have set Windows Media Player as the default media player, after many attempts to get Flashplayer or Shockwave player. Windows player will play most stuff, unless it is apparently limited to Flashplayer by uploader.

Try using the offline installers for flash player. I have A guide for the manual process. In theory you only need to do step two, download the latest version from the offline installer page, close your browsers and run the installer>

As far as I can tell, I have tried everything you suggested multiple times and still have no success with FlashPlayer installation. I'm just chalking it up to Adobe FlashPlayer being worthless.

Hi,
You have mentioned that you tried installing Flash Player version 22.0.0.510. The latest available Flash Player for IE(ActiveX) is 22.0.0.210. Secondly, you have mentioned that it asks you to pay for pictures whereas official Flash Player does not.
Probably you are not picking the Flash Player from official page. Please run the uninstaller available at Uninstall Flash Player for Windows
Then download the flash player from Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions and try installing it. If you still face issues, please share the logs. You can go through Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows? and share the logs How to share a document here.
Thanks!

If it was 510, then that is what came up on the adobe install page. I see it showing 210 now. I also tried 18.* and 11.* with the same result. Here's the log file.
The whole problem is that the FlashPlayer won't install properly. As a simple user I should not have to have a PhD in Computer Software Engineering to do it. I see that I'm not the only person having this problem. I'm just asking Adobe to make their installer work the way they say it will.

Flash Player is a free product and there is no requirement to purchase anything. What you're seeing on 'step 3 of 3' is an optional offer that displays after Flash Player has been successfully installed.
The Flash Player (32-bit) item you're seeing in the Control Panel is the Local Settings Manager (aka Control Panel). It is a 32-bit application, which is why it is displaying '32-bit' on your 64-bit OS.
The log file you posted does not show any errors for the most recent Flash Player installation attempts.
Please do the following:

I have downloaded at least three (3) versions of Flashplayer. Every time I do the install it all seems to go allright, however I can never find it afterwards and it will not run, It just keeps telling me that I need to install Flashplyer. I've probably tried to install a hundred times with no success. Software writers should make it happen pretty smoothly and/or give an error message that is intelligible.

Did you attempt any of the steps I requested you to perform? If so, what were the result?

m_vargas: I tried all of them, result the same as all the other times. Flashplayer seems to install ok, but, it's no where to be found and won't run. I do have one more thing to try: run a search for any file that has anything to do with Adobe and manually delete each and every one of them, then try install. Of course this could cost me the loss of other programs.

I am going to make an alternate suggestion If you click on my profile, you will see some utilities in my url i developed. If after reading about them you could also give them a try to see if that helps you out. It not something that as of lately i like to endorse too much on here out of respect to the official processes of this forum but they are available to try out.

OS: Windows 7 Professional
Browser: Google Chrome
Facebook advised that I needed to update FP. Repeated attempts to download FP failed. Previous advice was to uninstall FP and reinstall from Adobe. Using Chrome, this is is what I get:
If I click to close the Adobe Download Manager, it opens up a new page https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ in Internet Explorer..
I then found this https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1822939
But when I get to step 3, there is no "Security" at bottom of "General" tab. There is a "Security" tab, but no option to "UNBLOCK":
I also tried this but to no avail: How do I fix Windows permission problems with Flash Player?
Until I get this fixed, I can't get any videos to run on Facebook.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think I've got it, if you use Google Chrome the videos play just fine, in Internet Explorer you can't get them to work in any way. I guess Adobe has just gone money hungry since they can get money from Google. After three months and hundreds of tries I can't get Flashplayer to work after it flashes a bunch of screens by.
