Will Adobe release an ActiveX installer for version 32.0.0.433 for Windows 10

Currently Adobe has a Flash installation of version 32.0.0.433 for ActiveX that is only supported on Windows 7.

The version that is currently released for Windows 10 is 32.0.0.387 and this version does not support the recently added white list capability of Flash.

Once the EOL occurs on Jan 1, 2021, the only way to run Flash content with the most up to date Flash player will be through the white list option.

However, if there is no compatible ActiveX installer for Windows 10, then there won't be any straightforward way to get the latest version of Adobe Flash ActiveX installed and working on Windows 10.

Can Adobe provide any information on this?

Will Adobe will release a Windows 10 installer for ActiveX version that support the white list feature?Will there be an additional Adobe Flash update to Windows 10 before the removal update?

Flash Player is released monthly, on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.  This has been the standard release candence for several years.

With that said, Microsoft controls the distribution of the embedded version of Flash Player ActiveX Control in IE and Edge on Windows 10 via Windows Update.  At this time, the most recent version Microsoft has made available for IE/Edge is 32.0.0.287.

I think Microsoft will remove the embedded Flash Player around EOL, the same time Adobe removes all installers.

Yes... https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/09/04/update-adobe-flash-end-support/ says "Microsoft will continue providing security updates to Adobe Flash Player and maintain OS and browser compatibility through the end of 2020. " So, they don't intend to remove the Flash Player before end of life, the same time Adobe remove it. Hence, there is no need for an ActiveX.

Here's the deal with the different versions: 

On Windows 8.1 and higher, Microsoft distributes Flash Player directly as a built-in component of IE and Edge.  For various reasons, they've chosen to only publish updates to Flash Player that have security fixes.  Not all Flash Player updates have security fixes.  When that happens, Microsoft will generally choose to skip a release, and you'll see the Flash Player version for Active X on Windows 8.1 and higher fall behind the latest available version that Adobe and Google provide for other platforms.

The October 2020 release had a security-related fix, so they published it on Patch Tuesday, and all platforms are now synced up on the current version.  Once you've applied the latest updates from Windows Update, the EnableAllowList feature should work as documented on your Win8+ machines.

Thanks for the detail on that - I see the new version now and have confirmed the white list is working.  Will Adobe release any ActiveX installer for Windows 10 before the end of the year that is independent of a Microsoft update?
