Adding an Index to HTML Help outout in Frame12...

Hello there.

I just want to clarify how the process has changed for adding an Index to HTML Help between Frame 11 and Frame 12.

My old workflow in Tech Comm Suite 4 was like this:

In FrameMaker 11, I'd add Index markers to my FrameMaker source, and I'd generate an _IX index file in my FrameMaker book.

Then, I'd link the book into RoboHelp 10, and it would read the _IZ index file from FrameMaker, and create an Index in the HTML Help CHM file to match.

Am I correct that I don't need to do this any more in FrameMaker 12?

If I use Frame12's Publish command to generate HTML Help, I simply need to add Index markers to my Frame source, but I no longer need to have an _IX index file in my book?
The Publish process will automatically build an Index my HTML Help CHM using the markers?

(I've tried it out, and that seems to be what's happening -
just wanted to check!)  - I have to say I'm finding the Help viewer in Frame 12.0.2 virtually impossible to navigate in and find stuff on. It seems to be geared for use on a smartphone!

Ah, I miss that printed FrameMaker User Guide so much

Hi David

You don’t need to do anything extra for index.

Regarding the Help Viewer issues please log a bug at Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form. or please drop an e-mail to amitjha@adobe.com.

Looking for your feedback.

Thanks
