In browsing through the Forum Comments section -- and fair warning, if you haven't been there yet, be prepared for some very, very upset and discombulated posts -- here:

Discuss the upcoming changes to the Adobe Forums here - User to User Forums

I came across a mention of a Firefox add-on called "Stylish" that apparently allows one to customize the forum display, from very minor changes all the way to removing much of the eye candy.

There's apparently a download of a customized Stylish definitions that will allow control over the page width, too.

More info on this forum post, in reply #8:

EDIT: here's another thread with some good info on browser fixes for the forum display:

Stylish is here:

Cool -- the add-on and the script loaded very easily and it does make a real difference, reduces a lot of the clutter -- and with the add-on it's very easy to enable/disable the script, so that the changes are more easily visible.

There are also some threads showing how to use GreaseMonkey with FireFox to clean up the layout and widen the panels. See:

I must note and other user might take note as well

I installed Stylish, theN upload the Adobe.com script.  and worked fine in SeaMonkey 1.1.15.

However, when I updated to 1.1.16 it would work until I reinstalled stylish again the exact same way as it was installed before.

It did n't affect the script but stylish wouldn't find it until re uploaded.

Ah, and here's another hot-off-the-presses tweak that will remove the sidebar "Actions" and "More like this" space-wasters:

Now, if we could work out why some people's postings arrive with short-length lines and other people's wrap to take advantage of the new layouts for the fuller figure ...

The install of Stylish and the adobe.com script also works with SeaMonkey 1.1.15/1.1.16
