Hi,

Is there anything process in Frame 2017 similar to Word, that allows you to add a caption to a graphic?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth:

I'm not familiar with how Word adds captions, but in Fm there are two common techniques:

  1. Press Enter after the anchored frame to add a new ¶, and type in the caption. Set up a paragraph tag with Keep with Previous enabled to be sure that they travel together, or

  2. Add a 1 column table with two rows, and put the graphic in one cell and the caption in the other. Use table designer to format as desired and be sure to set the row properties so that the two cells don't break across pages. (A variation is to use a table title for the caption—it depends on the layout.)

The second option is a few more clicks because you have to add the table, but the advantage is that you can set the table to float in table designer, which allows Fm to let text that follows the table to backfill around the table (it actually moves it in front of the table), which makes for a better distribution of text. Setting up the table tag and paragraphs tags will make this pretty quick.
