About the paragraph catalog, what is the "check" symbol in grey (see blue lines) ? Why have I several check symbols in grey ? Because these paragraph tags (in grey) are not used in the document.

Salut Pierre:

Here is my interpretation of the checkmarks: they indicate styles that are currently in use, and styles that will be used as soon as you use that particular feature.

The default pre-checked styles are as follows:

  • Body
  • CellBody
  • CellHeading
  • Footnote
  • TableFootnote
  • TableTitle

Body is automatically assigned to any new text in a new default document, CellBody, CellHeading and TableTitle are automatically assigned when you add a default new table, and Footnote and TableFootnote ar

There is at least one paragraph using that tag in your document, though it may not contain text. Save the file as MIF and open in a text editor to find the content using the paragraph.

Hi Matt,

About the paragraph tags (Cellule courant / Cellule intitulé / Note page / Note Tableau / Titre tableau), I am sure they are not in this document, so why have I a grey checkmark for them ? By example, I have no note inside the document.

Are any of those paragraphs in use on master pages, references pages, or in hidden conditional text?

Hi frame expert,

By example, I have just opened a new empty FM file, and I see that FM create automatically some paragraph tags that are with a grey checkmark. The master page is empty, and I have not created any conditional text. And if I go to Reference page, here are the settings for the corresponding paragraph tags :

Did you create the MIF and use the Find option to locate them?

I'm pretty sure I came up with this on my own when the checkmarks were introduced. I don't recall I've ever seen this written down, so I could be incorrect. But this theory has held up over time, and that's how I teach it.

FWIW, the reference page tables are not using those table styles. They're using a variation called Mapping Table Cell that is not stored in the Paragraph Catalog.
