convert fm to XML

New Here ,
Jan 05, 2011 Jan 05, 2011

I need to convert 1650 FrameMaker files into XML, with WEbWorks Publisher standard edition 7. The program crashed during first analyse, after 1000 files. I don't think is a computer resource limit, because if I open task manager CPU and RAM is not over.

For convert this files I use only one book file.

Help me please!!!!!

teorivolo,

Before going any deeper: Are you sure the output you get is what you want? Webworks Publisher is not an XML tool and there is no guarantee that the output is well-formed XML (the file extension alone does not make an XML file compliant).

Do you have all files in a single book? Can't you just process the files in smaller chunks?

What do you need the XML files for?

Thank you Michael for your reply.

I use function in WebWork Publisher convert XML+XSL and I insert this file in browser "ad hoc".

I have all files in a single book and we can't divide this book because the internal link do not work.

Matteo,

I see. What else have you tried? I would assume the problem is WWP, it creates a MIF file for each FM document in the project’s Temp folder. Do you have enough disc space? Is the project on a local drive?

Matteo, I see.

Can you successfully update the book with FrameMaker?

Next step in the process is that WWP creates a MIF for every FM file in the project’s Temp folder.

Is the project folder in a local drive?

Do you have enough disc space?

After the crash, has this folder the same amount of MIF files as there are FM files?

Michael,

I have more free disk space on my pc. I understand that WWP do not use all resources my pc.

The project file is in local drive. File MIF and FM is the same after the crash
