When creating a book of several imported pdf's the ctrl find does not find any words.

If I open a pdf alone that was imported into that book then ctrl find works 100%

Thank you in advance

Could yo please explain in a little bit more detail what you are doing? As far as I understand, you are "importing" several PDFs into FrameMaker Documents which are part of a book and then you create a PDF from this book? And *where* are you trying to

And *where* are you trying to find something? In FrameMaker or in Acrobat? If in FrameMaker: You can not search for text in external files like PDFs. You can only search for text, that is part of the FrameMaker document itself (that is, it's editable in FrameMaker).

Also, is this question about structured FrameMaker and XML at all?

Moving this to the standard FrameMaker forum.

re: [inside FM] You can only search for text, that is part of the FrameMaker document itself (that is, it's editable in FrameMaker).

Interestingly, this limitation extends to simple text insets. Interesting because in the case of text insets, FM actually has a complete copy of the text embedded in the file (you can see it if you save as MIF and open with a plaintext editor).
