Hello ![]()
Is the above possible?
If I delete master pages in a document and then try to import the Page Layout formats in to another group of documnts, Framemaker ignores the request.
Am I doing it wrong or have you any other ideas?

When you import formats, which ever formats they are, FrameMaker ADDS the new formats to the existing formats UNLESS a new format has the same name as the existing format, in which case FrameMaker replaces the existing one with the new one.
Thus, if you DELETE a format, in your case a master page, from a document and then import the master pages from that document to a new document, FrameMaker does NOT delete the master pages from the second document that were also deleted from the first document. Importing formats is an ADDITIVE process, not a comparison process.

Cheers, Van.
That explains why I'm an idiot, now I just need a fix for the problem. ![]()

you can
- delete masterpages by hand ![]()
- write a script which imports formats and does a comparison process
- you can copy content into your template and "Save as" - side effects possible
