This is the information from version 4.0 of the S1000D specification (Chapter 4.5.1 para 2.2.1):

Attribute: dmEntryType (Optional), specifies the type of entry using one of the attribute values:

  • "n" = new
  • "c" = changed
  • "d" = deleted

The usage follows the similar change tracking attributes used for many elements inside the various data module structures.
