Does embedding video in pdf work in FrameMaker 2019 Rel. 15.0.4.751?

I have been trying with numerous different mp4 files, and I can make the pdf show a videoicon, and have it activate "finger above icon", but I can not make it play videos from the pdf. I can see that there has been another unresolved question on this forum before, but that was a former version of FrameMaker.

Would anybody have tried making it work in this version (15.0.4.751)?

Best regards

Bjørn

Hi Bjørn,

I do not have an mp4 file, only avi. When I import this avi file (File | Import | File) and convert to PDF, then I can click on this video and play the video. I only have to approve that this is a secure PDF and click on the video again.

I create my PDF via Distiller (Publish pod, setting Use Acrobat Distiller for PDF generation).

I also have 15.0.4.751.

How do you create your PDF?

Do you get any security warnings, when you click the video in the PDF?

Can you test other video formats?

Best regards

Hi Bjørn,

I tested this now with an mp4 file.

In the PDF I get a warning:

To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install the required version of  Flash Player.

I do not have a Flash player and do not want to install it.

Sorry. It seems that you cannot run an mp4 file in a PDF.

I would create a bug report:
