Could not find an answer to this doing a search. Does FM 10 offer full Opentype support for ligatures etc?

Thanks.

To my knowledge, FrameMaker does not replace certain character pairs with their ligatures; however, you can insert the ligatures directly by selecting File > Utilities > Character Palette. Of course, spell checking will find words with ligatures as misspelled words.

Naphtali,

As Van said, FrameMaker does not support any OpenType »features«, it has the same plain old text composer. There are some new fonts around that non longer contain traditional kerning pairs but only OpenType kerning and FrameMaker has a problem with them (unless you switch off kerning).

Basically this is a pity, because there very cool fonts around which take advantage of OpenType features, one example was mentioned today by Thomas Phinney, a font you can use to build charts by switching on ligatures:

Cool, isn't it?

Thanks all; Adobe sales help told me it did, but I figured I'd get a straight answer here as I'm not going to upgrade if it doesn't support it.
