Find/Change function not working in fields

I'm currently changing the formatting in a 2,000+ page document.  I've found that any text contained within a field (Ex. tables, bullets, numbered) does not get selected with the find/change function.

Using the character format search I'm able to search and change body formatted text, but find it extremely aggravating that I have to manually scan the remainder of the document to find the unchanged formatting.

Am I missing something here?

I use FM7/1/Unix, and it commonly does not find text in tables within anchored frames. And we use such tables for captions.

I haven't tested any of the affected documents to see if FM9 behaves any differently.
