FM 8.0.4 patch for 8.0.2 versions released

From FM product management:

The EFG (English, French, German) Patch for users who are still on 8.0.2 (p273) is live now. This is also called 8.0.4 (p277) and is available through Adobe Updater as of now.

These users will directly move from 8.0.2 -> 8.0.4

Soon, well make the patches available on the web and would release patch for Japanese installation too.

I am using FrameMaker 8.0p277 and Illustrator CS3 13.0.2. When I bring an Illustrator file which has a Symbol minus (-)sign in it into FrameMaker, and I make a PDF file of the FrameMaker document and view it in Acrobat, it shows up as u (mu). If I make a PDF of the illustrator file directly in Illustrator and view it in Acrobat, it is correct.

I save the file in Illustrator as CS3, Create PDF Compatible File, Embed ICC Profiles, and Use Compression.

I am at a loss and have a critical deadline.

I don't know what's causing this, but here are some options:

--Save your Illustrator file as EPS and import that instead. Make sure
you include fonts.

--Print to Adobe PDF instead of Save As PDF (or vice versa, you didn't
mention which one you're doing).

--Make sure you have only one Symbol font installed.

I can't get the Windows FM 5.0.4 update to install.
My initial installation was 8.0.0, standalone version, and I've since installed the 8.01 and 8.02 updates in order, so I'm currently running using FM 8.0.2. My Help > About FrameMaker menu option confirms that my version is Version 8.0p273. When trying to install 8.0.4 it downloads the files and then gives me an error message:

"You do not have correct version of FM install on your system. This patch installer will work only with Version 8 p273 build. Patch installer will quit now."

Followed by another message:
"Adobe FrameMaker 8.0.4 Update failed to install."

I cant uninstall the updates either (with a view to re-installing them). When I try to remove 8.0.2 (8.0 p273) I get the same error message. I can't go forward, can't go back.
