I converted a word doc to DITA, using Structure>Utilities>Convert Word to DITA.
My question is about formatting that the word content is now in FM.
What do you use to format text/tables?
Is it an EDD or by using custom template using Paragraph Designer?
I have been able to make a custon template, with styles defined in Paragraph Designer so that when open a new DITA concept file, FM reads uses this template in my working directory, instead of the default one.
So then, do I just go through the text and apply the styles?
Or, is there another way to do the formatting?
What is a typical workflow for this?
Thank you,
Vicki

Hi Vicki, as you're finding out, there are a few moving parts to working with and managing structured content, including DITA.
A structured FrameMaker template (including the ones for DITA) contain both EDD and unstructured Fm things like styles and master pages. You have choices on how you address each of these things.
Some education (more than an hour...) on how these things are modified and managed would be helpful for you.
Among your options are my 2 structured workbooks, my Fm reference book, and my courses and classes.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions on all of that.
