When I copy an inline element then sometimes the paragraph style is copied as well. The happens frequently when I copy a cross-reference. If the source context is a list then the target paragraph is formatted as list after I insert.
This is quite awkward in a structured document in which the style should of course be ther result of the EDD, not manual formatting.
Has anybody encountered this problem or do you know a solution?

Robert,
I just did a quick test in FM 12. I defined paragraph elements called Paragraph1 and Paragraph2. Paragraph2 had an autonumber; Paragraph1 did not. I copied a cross-reference from a Paragraph2 into a Paragraph1 and the paragraph format did not change. I gather your situation is more complex.
In any case, whenever you have an element whose formatting differs from that specified in the EDD, you can reformat the element by changing it to itself. In my case, if the Paragraph1 formatting had changed, I could have reformatted it by "changing" it to a Paragraph1. These directions always sound strange to me, but the processing is motivated by a common set of gestures in unstructured FM. Suppose a document's paragraph catalog includes a format called X and a user has a paragraph tagged X with format overrides. To remove the overrides, the user can simply reapply format X. The structured analog to remove overrides in the formatting of an element, is to change the element to itself.
Being a fan of keyboard shortcuts, in such situations, I use Esc h E to select the current element, Ctrl-3 for the Change Smart Catalog, type a unique prefix of the element name, and press Enter.

Lynne,
thanks for taking the time to test this. After reading that this issue seems to be unique I saved the document as mif and opened it again - the problem is gone now. I did this with all documents of the book and they all work again without the copy bug.
Strange, perhaps some conversion problem (they were created in FM9) but I'm hapy for the moment. Thanks!

Robert,
If you have the time, it might be worth opening one or two of the FM9 files again and see if the problem recurs. If it is repeatable, it's worth filing a bug report.
