For anyone using FrameMaker 2017 and CGMs for their graphics, when you publish to PDF, is the text in the CGM graphics searchable in the finished PDF?

We have been looking at using FrameMaker and are curious what other's experience has been with CGMs and publishing to PDF before we decide to use the product.

Thanks

Yes, the text is searchable if the text is editable in the CGM. It will not find text in a raster graphic that has been embedded in the CGM without additional processing.

For any image-of/with-text, you can always put a real text frame behind the image and copy the text into it. Image usually needs to be opaque, or text otherwise invisible.
