When I click on FrameMaker it will not launch. It appears in the "Process" section of Task Manager, but will not load to the screen. Is anyone aware of what might be causing this?

Does FrameMaker show up in the system tray? If so, it sounds like it's

loading offscreen. If you moved a maker.ini file from another computer with

two monitors, FM may be trying to place the program where the second monitor

would be. Changing monitor resolution can throw a program window off screen,

too.

You can use Windows commands to see: Click on the FrameMaker tab in the

system tray to make it active. Hit Alt+Space. Then type M for "move." Then,

click and drag left and right to see if the window appears.

You may want to first try the above procedure on a window that is visible,

to see what it is doing.

Is this a newly installed version of FrameMaker, or one that has worked previously, on this exact same system?

What version of FM is it (including the "pxxx" numbers as shown in Help > about)

Have you tried to reboot, in case that shakes loose something?

If Mike's suggestion doesn't help, maybe its a problem with the licensing manager. I believe that Frame uses the same licensing manager that is used by the CS4 suite. You can try the licensing repair tool

You didn't really provide enough information for a good diagnosis....

* What version(s) are you talking about?

* What OS?

* How much RAM and free disk space do you have?

* Has it been working and just stopped?

* Is this after a fresh reboot?

* Are you the owner of the Frame installation -- do you have the correct priveleges to run it?
