I have arrows drawn inside an anchored frame but when I publish to HTML, the arrows disappear. Is there a setting somewhere to include it?

Hi,

When you publish to HTML5 and you have several objects (graphics files, arrows, etc.) in a common anchored frame, FrameMaker converts the content of this anchored frame to a pixel file. This works very well!

Long ago FrameMaker could not handle this, but in newer versions this works.

What are your settings?

In my test I have these settings:

Outputs, Optimization tab:

Convert absolute image size to relative image size activated

Convert SVG to raster image deactivated

Style Mapping, Image Se

IIRC you have to have all your arrows & callouts flattened into the image inside the anchored frame for it to survive to HTML.

Jeff, i do not understand the term flatten here. In a graphic application with a pixel image it means to 'integrate' all vector objects into the pixel image. But what is theequivalaent in FM?

I mean all your arrows etc. should be done in your graphics program outside of FM & the only thing you bring in is the complete final image. I don;t think you can use FM graphics tools to create something inside FM that will survive publishing to HTML5.

I am sure that other settings will work as well. This is just a test.

Are your arrows really inside of the anchored frame? (You can test this, if you select the anchored frame and press CTRL+A.) Is there anything else inside this anchored frame?

What's your FrameMaker version? Did you install all updates?

Best regards

Thank you, Winfried. After encountering an error that caused FM to shut down, I tried again and all items within the anchored frame are now included in HTML output. The anchored frame included a .jpg, text frames for callouts, plus drawn arrows using FM graphics tools. The HTML published result appeared exactly as desired.
