half-hearted Exclusion <g>

Good thing I was relatively awake! After extensive remodelling (or to put it another way, sorting the content into a more logical order and removing duplications) of an inherited document, I ran a Find to see whether there were any of my :question paragraphs left. Imagine my distress when FM reported more than a few … imagine my relief, mingled with mild irritation, when it turn out they were in a file I'd set to "excluded" but left in the book structure in case there any more discussions to get through before publication.

I don't suppose there's an option anywhere to make Find a bit more focused? I seem to remember it also paints outside the lines when I use "search in book" and have a couple of files from another book open.

Niels,

It seems like the current programmers though that "exclude" only meant that it applied to output and update operations for the book...

I would suggest filing a bug report on this for the Find operation: FrameMaker Bugs & Wish List

Arnis – happy to contribute, but when I follow your link I get to a page "Feature Request/Bug Report Form". There is a pulldown for selecting a product … which does not include FrameMaker. Do I just dump my comment under Creative Suite and hope for the best?

Nor does it include Tech Comm Suite or RoboHelp.

And Scalable Vector Graphics is abbreviated "SVC".

What's the URL for reporting mutliple bugs in the bug reporting URL?

You might also point out that Adobe has no link for reporting problems on the Adobe web itself (independent of products).

There are only two kinds of enterprises that lack such links:

  1. Those with flawless websites in need of no possible enhancements, and
  2. ...

Wow, FrameMaker and TCS are not on the

Feature Request/Bug Report Form

page...Perhaps Niels is correct, and we're about to be added to the Creative Cloud

Or Adobe is getting ready to sell FM back to Nick Corfield.
