Going to need a bit more data before anyone can help you out - what are you trying to accomplish? FrameMaker is especially suited for long form documentation (that may or may not take the form of a book).

Do you want to write a book, or are you creating a technical guide or manual?

Fm is well-suited for tech docs, but I'd look at something like InDesign to produce a nonfiction book.
