How do I obtain adobe distiller 5.05 or newer?

I recently installed framemaker 12. Save as PDF tells me I need distiller version 5.05 or newer installed.

2 options – uninstall your old distiller version & let FM12 install its “headless” version – it will only work with FM, though, so if you need it in other places (Word, etc.) then you need to pursue option 2: upgrade your current distiller version by buying a newer one.

Looking through my installed programs, I do see or recognise an entry for adobe distiller. Was there possibly a checkbox I missed when I installed FM12 to get the distiller installed?

Did you already have a copy of Acrobat Pro?

No, the only Adobe products I have installed are

Adobe AIR

Adobe Flash Player 18

Adobe FrameMaker 12

Adobe Reader XI

So you want the “headless” version – that comes with the FM installer – look for the PDF Creator option in the FM installer.

The following thread shows where to look for the PDF Creation plugin,

when installing FrameMaker. It usually installs by default--which you

don't want if you have Acrobat-- but it sounds like it was not installed

for you.
