Subject line pretty much says it all.
For example, when you do a "Change All" the FrameMaker UI makes an annoying honking sound. I want to disable ALL sounds coming from FrameMaker.
Obviously the simple thing would be to mute the PC entirely, but I don't want streaming audio to be muted, only FrameMaker.
I couldn't find anything in any of the preferences, nor could I find anything in the maker.ini file.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

What version of FM, from Help About, the "pxxx" numbers. What specific O/S.

Same thing for me, I'd completely forgotten that FM made sounds-- I keep my volume down way low anyhow, so I barely hear them anyhow.
The dialog I tested was Find / Change, that does produce a sound on Change All. I can see it would be annoying if you were using the Find/Change quite intensively.
It's a heavy hammer, but what I've done in the past to get rid of sounds is to just rename the Windows .wav file (which of course would affect any other application or any other Windows util that uses that specific sound).

It's not an elegant solution, but .... you could identify what .wav files FM uses, then create a batch file that would rename the .wav files so they wouldn't be found and if they're not found, it would rename them again to their correct names. It could be an icon on the desktop, so one click on, one click off.
Or maybe is this something that AutoHotKey could do?

Dan,
AFAIK, FM sounds are tied into the standard Windows sound scheme that you have enabled via the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Device Properties > Sounds tab. Mine just do a slight chirp on top-level menu selection and a very small chirp (asterisk sound ?) when the Change All is completed. I've almost forgotten about them being enabled until you mentioned it.
