GM, 

I went and followed the intructions for converting a word doc to a DITA Concept, using the Convert Word to DITA dialog box.
Structure>Utilities>Convert Word to DITA

However, it failed to produce output and per the log 'aborted'.

I am trying to convert a simple word doc, with just 2 Headings and text. I formatted the text in word.
Are there any common reasons why this conversion might fail?

See Structure>Utilities>Convert Word (docx) to DITA... for the automated FrameMaker utility to do that.

I found an ealier video on framemaker,using Structure>Utilities>Convert Word to DITA

I had a new DITA Concept file open to beging conversion process.

Let's say in my word file to convert, I had all the DITA topics there -a task, concept paragraphs, and reference tables.

Is there a way to convert that I get all of those topics in 1 DITAMAP, after conversion? 

Or, does FM just convert and give you element tags for whatever DITA topic you have open to process the word file?

An easier way to say my question might be:
data from Word gets pushed in as Concept.
How would you get Task and Reference formatted in your DITA file, after conversion?

But briefly, among other more technical solutions, you can manually transform the Concept in FrameMaker, or you can edit the default Style to Tag Map transformation file provided in the Roaming directory.
